Overview
Padboard is a collaborative-board platform built for classrooms and teams. This policy explains what information we collect when you use it, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. It applies to everyone who creates an account, joins a board as a guest, or visits the site.
Information we collect
Account details you give us directly — name, email, school, country and governorate, phone number if you add one — and the content you create: boards, posts, comments, files and images you upload. We also collect basic usage data automatically: sign-in timestamps, session activity while you're using the app, device and browser information, and error logs, so we can keep the service reliable.
How we use it
To provide the service you signed up for — creating and displaying your boards, sending the notifications and emails you'd expect (verification, password resets, comment and grading alerts), responding to support requests, and keeping accounts and content secure. Usage data also helps us understand which features are actually used, so we can prioritise fixing and building the right things.
Cookies and local storage
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in, and local browser storage for interface preferences like language and theme. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Who we share data with
We don't sell your data. A small number of service providers process it on our behalf, strictly to run the platform: a payment processor for subscriptions, an email provider for transactional email, and an object-storage provider for uploaded files. None of them are permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
Students and classroom use
Boards are often used by students under a teacher's or school's supervision. The teacher or school that invites students onto a board is responsible for having the consent required under their local rules before doing so. We do not run advertising, and we do not sell any account's data — student or otherwise.
Data retention and deletion
Deleted boards and posts sit in a trash for a recovery window before being permanently removed. You can request full account deletion at any time from your account settings or by contacting support; this removes your personal data and content beyond what we're legally required to keep.
Your rights
You can access, correct or export your data from your profile at any time, and request deletion as above. If something in your account looks wrong, or you want a fuller export, contact support and we'll help directly.
Security
Passwords are hashed, never stored in plain text. Traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted. Access to production data is limited to the people who need it to operate the platform.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date below and, for significant changes, let account holders know.
